Madagascar at the Drive Ins

During the summer we like to take the kids to the drive ins a couple times to see movies.
There always seems to be at least one or two good kid movies that come out each summer, and the drive ins is a WAY cheaper way for the whole family to get to see a movie. When we go on Tuesdays the adults are only $5 and kids are $1. We load up with some special goodies at a gas station, or bring stuff from home and head on out.
Last month we headed on over to the drive ins to see Madagascar 3. The kids had already seen the first two so it was only natural that we saw the third.
We got there nice and early as the movie had just come out the Friday before.

We brought Gus along, just to keep him used to being around people, more people than just us. He did great.

While we were waiting for the movie to get started the kids were wandering around with Gus on his leash. Suddenly I heard them laughing hysterically. Alana came running over to the driver side of the van to show me. Gus was panting for the first time. It really was cute as his tongue is WAY longer than we realized! This was the best picture I got of it.

After laughing at the poor dog's expense, the kids found some other kids tossing a football back and forth and asked if they could join in, so  they played that for a while until it got so dark we couldn't see them very well. Just as we called them over to us, my friend Molly showed up with her two oldest girls to watch it with us. Then the previews started. I had Molly come over and snap a family picture for me. (Tim kept blinking, that's why he looks like such a goober)

Then I ran over and snapped one of Molly, her girls, Claire and Rachel and of course my kids that wanted to watch the movie in Molly's truck.

Fun, fun night. We were gonna take the kids back to see Brave, but Grama Marty already took them to the regular theatre to see that one. There's another Ice Age movie that just came out, so we will probably take them to see that one at the Drive Ins before school starts up again.
